Injured at Work?
The following 3 steps are imperative:
Report the injury to the employer
Report the injury to your doctor. Make sure you inform the doctor the injury happened while at work.
Report the injury to WCB
In order to have a WCB claim accepted, WCB requires a minimum of 2 forms of reporting. The employer does not always report the injury, therefore, it is imperative that you and the attending physician report the injury.
There may be circumstances were an injury occurs while in the province of Saskatchewan. If the injured employee requests medical attention it is likely the closest hospital will be in Saskatchewan. That attending physician would report the injury to the WCB board of Saskatchewan. It is important that you see your family doctor upon your return home and inform them the injury happened at work.
